Hand Painted Haitian Cross - 4" Orange / Red
This beautiful cross is hand crafted and painted by hand in Haiti.The center image of Christ is surrounded on all four sides by the causes of terrible suffering in Haiti. Hunger, the situation of women, the harsh condition of infancy, lack of homes, deforestation, or the death by drowning of those attempting to flee the island for Nassau or Florida are all conditions the people feel. The vibrant colors signify the the resurrection in the midst of so much death and the hope and joy of the knowledge of salvation. The crosses are hand crafted and painted by young Haitian men who use their wages to pay for their schooling. Since these crosses are hand painted, there is some variance from piece to piece and each will be slightly different.
