This Miraculous Medal is made up of two different pieces of metal. The border and loops of the center piece have a gold finish, while the Miraculous medal insert is a silver oxidized piece featuring a blue enamel accent. Measuring 5/8" in diameter, this center piece is die-cast for exceptional detail, and silver oxidized with a rich, three dimensional silver plated finish as only the Italians in the central region of Italy have perfected. Known as the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, this was created by St. Catherine Laboure following a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
